I was at work and my bra broke. BROKE. Not even the shoulder strap, but the clasp. At least it was a frontsy, and it broke only an hour before my lunch, so I was able to hold it shut til lunch time and run and buy a new one, but damn.

 A 175 page book(not counting index and contents etc) entitled "Teach Yourself Wikipedia in 10 Minutes"

First of all I'd like to point out that it would take more than 10 minutes to read the book in the first place. Secondly, it's f*king wikipedia. If you need to buy a book to figure out how it works, do the human race a favour and don't have kids. ever.

Also, this one. It made me die a little inside when I saw it and I wanted to cry. Especially as it was published as a Penguin Classic. Boy have I lost faith in those now.
The offending book is entitiled "Twitterature: The Great Stories Retold Through Twitter."

Why?

 This is 100% absolutely true, and was said in all seriousness: not a joke at all.

I was at a museum tour this morning, as part of my internship, the tour group was some high school students. Grade 11 or 12.
One girl said some pretty stupid things (they didn't have glass 2000 years ago; like they had perfume back then) but I was drop-jawed when she came out with this one... (brace yourselves for the stupidity)...

"oh wow, wouldn't it be awesome if there was, like, some ancient version of the olympic games?"

yes. really.

I feel like a Sim right now, when they have the angry bubble above their head because they need to stop doing boring ass stuff and they need to do something fun or their brain'll explode.

I wonder if stomping my foot and shaking my fist at some theoretical higher being will make that happen?


Stupid essays.

It does not want me to play DDO. Every time I try, our internet cuts out.

The Universe does not want me to play DDO so much that just now when I tried to play, the entire server crashed. The Universe BROKE DDO just to stop me from playing it.

Guess I'll go watch Pokemon instead. 

 FIRST: I detest milk that always runs out when you need it most.

SECOND: I despise assignments that fail at being interesting, it makes them so much harder to do.

THIRD: I HATE MAGGOTS! I hate that they appear out of the bin from nowhere, I hate that spray and wipe doesn't kill them or stop them, it just makes them wet, I hate that they blend into the stupid pattern on our stupid kitchen lino floor and I HATE HATE HATE the sound/feel of them popping under my feet when I accidentally step on them because A) I didn't know they were there and B) once I did know, I COULDN'T SEE THEM because of our stupid kitchen lino. Its the most gross thing ever. The stepping-on-maggots that is.

 Things I have bought:

DVDS - The Wrong Man - a action/mystry with Bruce Willis and some other people. Very good ending, nice and twisty.
            - 5th Element - 'Nother Bruce WIllis one. Also my favourite incarnation of Gary Oldman. 
            - Stargate, the ist movie. James Spader Jackson is SO FREAKIN CUTE. Also, Jaye Davidson/Ra. Jaye should be in more movies.
            - 50th anniversary edition of Sleeping Beauty, the disney one. Maleficent is the most AWESOME evil lady ever. She's a fucking dragon!
            - Phantom of the Opera. FINALLY I own  a copy.

BOOKS - recently got a 1916 leatherbound-and-gilt Works of Robert Browning
               - just got a 1900-ish Tales of Romance and Fantasy by Poe
               - Currently the highest bidder on a 1855 works of Milton. Fingers crossed that I get it!

 Seriously, it was so damn epic. In dot points:

 * X1E7 force lightninged the eyeballs off of a geonosian...literally
 * Nimeq performed open-hutt surgery(well, technically de-carboniting-hutt surgery), and out-doctored The Doctor
 * Veshan(spelling?) fixed his swoop bike WHILE racing down the side of a building, amongst other epic swoop biking feats, in a swoop      
    race in which many racers died, but he did not.
 * Lonar and Clopin conned their way into a bank vault, robbed it, then conned their way back out.
 * Nimeq and Tusserk took on 2 black sun mob bosses, and won.
 * Nimeq and Tusserk blew up the armoury of said bosses, using the armourys own grenades
 * The team stormed the moff's house, killed the moff, and left, without taking a hit.
 * Loot from all ventures included, among other things, over $80,000, a crate full of rockets, a nuke, and a space yacht.
 * oh, and Nimeq achieved her destiny.

I want to go to Sydney for postgrad. Soooooo much monies involved. Over $30,000 just for the Masters fee and a roof over my head for a year.

If you want to get me something for my birthday, I could really use $30,000.

 Damn I love Cole+Phoebe. Especially the early times. Just watched the halloween episode (Babs you know the one) and Cole at the end as an angel makes me squee. So adorable. "So you're an angel." "heh...no...not really..."

Went on a HOT DATE today with Babs. It was made of AWESOME and RANDOM. We went to Starbucks, the museum, the markets, some monument to an 11 year old that had train tracks amd a tombstone thing and a giant arch. We saw opera and italian cars(apparently it is Italian week). We sketched Brisbane getting invaded by various italian animals, who were italian cos of large moustaches, and cars getting a gondola ride from Phantom who sneaked to brisbane with the Paris Opera Ballet, disguised as a ballerina of course, and paratooping sugargliders and scubadiving hares and we got churros and I BELIEVE IN BOTTLE AND PLATE'S LOVE!

*inhale*

THEN I went to my QSE feedback seesion and then I was bummed cos the train from indro wasn't running it was a railbus instead, but then then it was ok cos one of the QSE guys was there waiting also and I had heaps of fun chatting to him and he's hot. And likes anime and dr horrible and old/weird/cult movies that I like. So that was fun. And I am looking forward to camping with my not-brother in the holidays and other fun holiday stuff that is NOT assignments.

 This week has not been good for me. Right now I'm alternating between not caring if I don't pass(which would be a REALLY REALLY BAD THING) and wanting to go to whoever set the material for this course and make them eat the text book.

Beast claims my lap.

I wonder if it's possible to drink too much coffee, and what the side effects(affects?) would be.

And when I get this done I have another essay due in a week.
